Introduces the application of fundamental business principles to local, national, and international forums. This course examines the relationship of economic systems, governance, regulations, and law upon business operations. BUS 1016 - Personal Finance

Surveys the basic personal finance needs of most individuals and introduces the personal finance tools useful in planning and instituting a successful personal financial philosophy. CIS 1018 Introduction to PC Applications

Introduces basic computer terminology, file management, and PC system components. MAR 1060 Customer Service

Enables students to learn the relationship of self to customers, problem solve and understand the importance of communicating with customers. Specific emphasis is given to managing customer expectations by building customer rapport and creating positive outcomes. Note: This course was previously listed as MAR 160. It is required that students take ACC-MAR 1060 Customer Service and ACC-MAR 1055 Social Media and Business in consecutive semesters.

MAR 1055 Social Media for Business

Focuses on the use of social media as a business strategy and how to match strategy with the goals of the business. This course compares social media marketing with traditional marketing and explores online best practices to further business goals. MAR 2016 Principles of Marketing

Marketing I (CTE Business & Marketing Essentials) is an introductory course for students interested in marketing and business. The course explores the fundamentals of marketing including economics, sales, product/service planning, and promotion/advertising, marketing research, communications, legal and ethical issues, and marketing career development. A hands-on, project oriented approach is used to make the class interesting and fun. After successful completion of this course students are encouraged to take ACC Principles of Marketing-MAR 2016, which can be found on the Concurrent Enrollment page.

Sports and Entertainment Marketing (CTE Event Marketing) provides students with in-depth exposure to the importance and role of marketing, media and public relations in the event planning industry. The main focus will be on the world of sports and athletes by examining marketing as affected by athletes, fans, corporations and the general population's interest in professional and amateur competition. Students will explore a wide range of marketing topics related to the sports industry including: sponsorships, apparel, advertising, brand loyalty, and target marketing. Students will engage in classroom experiences including researching career pathways and degrees, usage of technology in sports marketing, analysis of current sports related marketing trends, creation of promotional portfolios and interaction with sports marketing experts. Students will design a marketing plan to include target market research, communication tools, objectives, strategies and implementation.

Students will function as store managers for the school store. You will be responsible for all operations of the store, including product development, promotion and distribution of goods, pricing and inventory control functions.
